What should I pay attention to when installing the wine cooler?
When you choose a built-in wine cooler, it is important to take a few things into account.
Correct niche dimensions
Before purchasing, pay attention to the external dimensions of the built-in wine cabinet and the niche dimensions of your (existing) kitchen. In principle, our wine cabinets that are suitable for installation have dimensions that take into account the standard niche dimensions. Nevertheless, it is important to always measure the niche dimensions.Accurately measure the height of the niche. This is the inside of the space between which the cabinet will be placed. Niche dimensions of kitchens are standardized dimensions, but also measure the width and depth for verification. The standard niche width of kitchens is 60 centimetres, but there may be small differences. A small margin is needed so that the small wine fridge can be slid into the niche. When measuring the depth, allow for a little extra clearance. For ventilation purposes, equipment should not be placed tightly against the rear wall.
Find the appropriate built-in wine cabinet
Now that the niche dimensions are known, you can find the suitable models on our product page – possibly with the help of the filter. For refrigeration, always check the box next to “Compressor with fan”. Use this to filter out the models that are not suitable for installation. Please note that this only applies to our own webshop, since our cabinets with compressors are suitable for both free-standing installation and for built-in. This can differ per brand/webshop.
The height of the wine cooler can always be slightly adjusted (max. 2cm) using the adjustable feet. The height indicated in the specifications is the minimum height. The indicated depth is the depth excluding the handle.
Power supply
Make sure that the wine cabinet can be connected to the power network at the rear.
Heat dissipation front
The air vent for heat dissipation is located at the front at the bottom. It is therefore important that it is not covered with a plinth, or that the plinth is also fitted with a grid.
Cold air supply rear
The wine cabinet needs fresh air supply at the rear to keep the wine cabinet cool. This means that a supply of fresh air is ALWAYS required at the rear. If the wine cabinet is completely built-in without the possibility of supplying fresh air, the compressor can overheat in a short time. Always count with a space of 200 cm2 of fresh air at the rear. (see installation drawing)
Which models are suitable for installing under the worktop of your kitchen?
Would you like to install a wine cooler under the worktop of your kitchen or bar? For a standard niche width of 60 centimeters, the BODEGA43 for 40 bottles is ideal for this. The version for 18 or 32 bottles also fits perfectly under the kitchen worktop, but these models do not have the width of a standard 60 cm wide niche. When you choose to build a wine cabinet in a new kitchen, an appropriate niche size can of course always be taken into account. Consult with your kitchen dealer about this.
