Studio: Synthesizers / modules
Novation BassStation rack I hardly use the 05R/W now, and I only use the Roland as a master keyboard. It's not that I don't like their sounds – both of them can make great noises – it's just that I've not got many inputs available for sounds on my desk, and they always get used up by the sampler. The Novation is a fantastic synth. It's noisy and unreliable, but it is versatile, and with a bit of EQ and its capability to filter an external source it can make a never-ending supply of sounds. The same goes for the MS10, which has a rougher filter and a nice solid feel to it. It only cost £125 and runs on MIDI via the CV/gate converters that come built into the Novation.
